GOD’S HOLY WORD

2 Tim 3:13-17

Truth: God’s Word teaches us what is right. God’s Word teaches us how to get right. God’s Word teaches how to stay right. Do you know God’s Word?

I. GOD’S WORD TEACHES US WHAT IS RIGHT

1. We need to know and understand God’s Word. Vs. 13, Psa 1:1-2, John 5:39, Psa 119:27.
2. We are to live out God’s Word. Vs. 14-15, Psa 119:9-10, Psa 119:105. Matt 4:19

II. GOD’S WORD TEACHES US HOW TO GET RIGHT

1. God’s Word gives us the plan of salvation. Vs. 15, John 3:18-21, John 3:16-18.
2. The Holy Spirit takes God’s Word to our heart. Acts 2:37, Heb 4:12, Jer 23:29, Eph 6:17
3. The Word tells us the Holy Spirit let’s us know we are saved. Rom 8:16, 1 John 5:9, 2 Cor 1:21-22

III. GOD’S WORD TEACHES US HOW TO STAY RIGHT

1. The Scriptures are God breathed and powerful. Vs. 16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, 1 Thess 2:13. The Bible is true.
2. The Scriptures are profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction and instruction in righteousness. Vs. 16
3. The Scriptures perfect us and furnish us to serve. Vs. 17, 1 Tim 6:11, 2 Tim 2:15, 2 Tim 2:21
