I. JUSTIFICATION EXPLAINED

1. To Justify is to declare righteous, to make one right with God. 2 Cor 5:21, Rom 3:21-26. Isa 53:11, Rom 5:18
2. Jesus Christ fulfilled all righteousness. Acts 13:38-39.
3. We are justified at the moment of our salvation. We are declared righteous. Rom 4:3-5
4. Our justification comes from placing our faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Rom 4: 23-25

II. JUSTIFICATION EXPERIENCED

1. Justification pardons you from all sin. Rom 5:9, Matt 9:6, Acts 10:43
2. Justification provides the promise of eternal life. Rom 5:17, Titus 3:5-7, Rom 5:21
3. Justification brings us peace and favor with God. Rom 5:1-3.
4. Justification brings us every blessing needful for time and eternity. Matt 6:33. 1 Tim 4:8

HAVE YOU BEEN JUSTIFIED?

JESUS THE WAY OF SALVATION

1 John 4:10

Truth: Jesus brought salvation wholly by grace. Jesus by His death made a full atonement for our sins. Do you know the way of salvation?

I. JESUS BROUGHT SALVATION WHOLLY BY GRACE

1. Jesus came to be our Savior. 1 Tim 1:15, Eph 2:8, 1 John 4:10
2. Jesus came to be our mediator as the Son of God. 1 Tim 2:5, John 3:16, Heb 4:14, Heb 7:24-25
3. Jesus took our nature yet without sin. Phil 2:6-7, Heb 2:9, Heb 2:14, 2 Cor 5:21
4. Jesus honored the divine law by His personal obedience. Isa 42:21, Gal 4:4-5. Matt 5:17

II. JESUS BY HIS DEATH MADE A FULL ATONEMENT FOR OUR SINS

1. Jesus died for our sins. Isa 53:4-5, Rom 4:25, Rom 3:21-26, 1 John 2:2
2. Jesus rose from the dead and is now enthroned in heaven. Heb 1:8, Heb 1:3, Col 3:1-4
3. Jesus is our all sufficient Savior. Heb 7:25, Col 2:9, Heb 2:18.

HOW SIN INVADED OUR WORLD

Rom 5:12

Truth: We inherited our sin from Adam. We sin because we are sinners. We cannot make excuses for our sin. Are you a sinner?

I. WE INHERITED OUR SIN FROM ADAM

1. Adam was created in holiness to obey God. Gen 1:27,31, Ecc 7:29, Gen 2:16-17
2. Adam broke God’s law and fell from his holy state. Gen 3: 6-7. 1 Tim 2:14
3. Adam’s sin affects us. Rom 5:12, 15-19, Rom 8:7

II. WE SIN BECAUSE WE ARE SINNERS

1. We sin by choice. Isa 53:6, Gen 6:12, Rom 3:9-12
2. We are positively inclined to evil. Eph 2:1-3
3. We are by nature utterly void of the holiness required by the law of God. Psa 51:5, Rom 3:23

III. WE CAN NOT MAKE EXCUSES FOR OUR SIN

1. We are under just condemnation to eternal ruin. Gal 3:22, Gal 3:10, Rom 6:23
2. We are without defense or excuse. Rom 2:2, Rom 3:19
3. Jesus is the only one who can take away our sin. John 1:29, 2 Cor 5:21, Gen 3:15
